Needed Branch of Government: House of Repeal

July 15th, 2010

The Washington Times in its article “Finance bill favors intersts of unions, activists” points out some of the blatent paybacks and race bias that characterize Democrat mega-legistlation (2,400 page) being blindly jammed down the country’s throats. It’s just what we need, 20 more offices of minority and women inclusion.

The bill would create more than 20 “offices of minority and women inclusion” at the Treasury, Federal Reserve and other government agencies, to ensure they employ more women and minorities and grant more federal contracts to more women- and minority-owned businesses.

The agencies also would apply “fair employment tests” to the banks and other financial institutions they regulate, though their hiring and contracting practices had little or nothing to do with the 2008 financial crisis.

“The interjection of racial and gender preferences into America’s financial sector deserves greater media exposure” before Congress debates and passes the massive 2,400-page bill, said Kevin Mooney, a contributing editor for Americans for Limited Government’s daily newsletter.

This is just one more of the many reasons why the current congress and executive need to be booted out and replaced. They’ve gone completely wild with their power. Under the guise of financial reform they’re creating new bureaucracies and carving out preferences to reward favored constituencies, including racial preferences. They’re passing inane and insane laws that may stay on the books for decades to come unless the situation is corrected. But how?

If ever we’re able to elect a sane, disciplined set of representatives, they’ll have a huge job wiping out this and other liberty destroying monstrosities. It would be a better procedure to pass a one-page bill that would force a 2-year sunset for ALL legislation passed in the last 25 years and further specify that no replacement bill may contain any part of the sunsetted legislation, no replacement may cover more than a single subject, and that any replacement must fit into 20 typed pages or less. Furthermore, congress shall have no more than 90 days to replace a bill, after which it will expire forever.

Then, to prevent this regulation through mega-legislation from ever re-appearing, we should have a constitutional amendment establishing a “House of Repeal,” whose elected representatives would be charged with repealing already passed legislation. A two-thirds vote of both houses of congress could override the repeal, but the President could veto the congressional over-ride.

The Legislative Shredder, what an idea!

Big Brother Bites Finance & Lots More

June 25th, 2010

No amount of indignation or ridicule is sufficient to describe the 2,000 page monster of a finance regulatiory bill, now called Dodd-Frank. Like the health care monster, this Demoncrat written and sponsored beast injects the government into every nook and cranney.

But why object?

    * It doesn’t address the problem that is supposedly its justification, “too big to fail,” real estate bubble, unwise leverage and derivative practices.
    * It was written by the same guys whose prior congressional activities were responsible for causing the crisis in the first place.
    * It leaves the two entities most responsible for the “crisis” (Fannie and Freddie) untouched and still toxic.
    * It seeks to micro-manage and regulate financial transactions that have heretofore been privately negotiated without serious problems.
    * It creates expensive new bureaucracies that will be no more competent or responsible than the ones we’re already suffering under. The SEC for example failed to notice Bernie Madoff’s shenanigans even when repeatedly notified.
    * Like all government reactions to perceived “crises” before it, witness Sarbanes-Oxley, this regulatory beast will have many unanticipated negative consequences, which will be very difficult to correct.
    * It branches out into regulating consumer finance, which has nothing to do with the main subject but is a pet project of the MLB (meddlesome-liberal-busybodies).

Dodd-Frank gives the government oversight of almost all financial transactions, large and small. Its supporters claim that the regulation of consumer finance is necessary to “protect consumers.” Provisions of the bill set up a spy network to monitor every detail of finance (“to prevent systemic failures”) and threaten individuals with fines and jail if they try to hide their transactions or refuse to provide government thugs with whatever financial details they request. See my previous article: Liberty & Democrats And while they’re at it, they want to regulate the internet. See: FTC Regulation of Internet

Isn’t it amazing what can be hidden in 2,000 pages of legalistic mumbo jumbo? And to do all this without addressing the real cause of the financial panic takes real talent. Fannie and Freddie are free to go their merry way sucking up government bail-out funds by the gazilions. Of course Goldman Sachs gains some assurances that rivals will suffer more than they do, and Obama’s “fat cat bankers” can count on future government fail-outs indefinitely.

So thanks to, Barney, among the most corrupt in the House of Representatives and Chris, among the most corrupt in the Senate, the country’s financial system will be in competent government hands and we’ll all be protected from the predators out there. But aren’t these the same guys whose previous policies and regulations were the root cause of the real-estate bubble and financial crisis in the first place?

Yah, sure!

More Bureaucratic Bungling Blocking Oil Cleanup

June 17th, 2010

A P.S. to the previous article describes how government paperwork is causing oil cleanup efforts to be thwarted.

BP Oil Spill: Against Gov. Jindal’s Wishes, Crude-Sucking Barges Stopped by Coast Guard describes how the Coast Guard’s bureaucracy is hindering the cleanup efforts. Hasn’t anyone in the government got the cahones to just cut through the BS and focus on getting the job done?

The BIG BUNGLING U.S. Government IS the PROBLEM. The bigger it gets the more incompetent it becomes! HACK IT DOWN TO SIZE!

Awful Offal from the Oval Office

June 16th, 2010

Last evening His Assness, the Sun God, graced us with his radiance in hopes of boosting his poll ratings. He informed us that anything that had gone well during the Gulf oil spill was due to his beneficent efforts. HE had produced the sand berms to protect the Louisiana shores. What he didn’t mention was that his federal bureaucrats had blocked these berms and they’re being built only after the local government took the initiative on its own. As always, we’re expected to believe that lies told by His Assness are really truth.

This godly creature inhabiting the White House acts with divine powers not limited by laws. He can decree the career execution of mere business executives, take over companies, break contractual obligations, seize private assets for “public good”, anything he deems or dreams or wants for his own political well being. That’s the “Audacity of Hope” or something like that.

The Oval Office speech format is normally reserved for substantive speeches about vital national events. President Obama’s political legacy isn’t in that category, and the speech itself was that of an amateur completely out of his depth. But that doesn’t mean he can’t do great harm. He can and he does.

It gets to look more like Venezuela every day.

Gutless, Toothlesss and Stupid

May 27th, 2010

Now we hear that “US troops won’t be used to stop illegal immigration”:

US National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will be used to stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws, the State Department said Wednesday.

So how are they going to do that? Ineffective and annoying checkpoints going south added to the annoying and ineffective checkpoints going north? The last time the national guard was deployed on the border they were not issued ammunition for their weapons. Now that’s really smart — armed forces without bullets. Only the Obama crowd could think of something more stupid than that — stopping the arms traffic southbound! “Hey! The other guys have guns! Those are the guys you’re being sent out to stop?”

I live just about 35 miles north of the border, so I’m intimately aware of the problems. We have traffic through my property all the time. In the past it had been friendly farm laborers looking for honest work. But lately the traffic has turned ugly — drugs and gangs. Where I used to greet and chat with the visitors, I now go out armed to confront them and send them on their way. The border patrol sometimes comes out, but never quickly enough to apprehend anyone.

From what I’ve heard so far this is just another example of the gutless, toothless and stupid Obama crew posing as fixers for everything from banks, to auto companies, to health care, to oil wells.

IRS Paperwork Explosion

May 21st, 2010

As mentioned before in this blog, hidden in the health care legislation is a new IRS requirement that will result in a massive paperwork increase for every business in the country. It will cost thousands of dollars and countless hours to comply with this new requirement to report 1099’s for all transactions over $600. Hundreds, maybe thousands of transactions will have to be monitored and reported.

CNN Money.com reports:

Starting in 2012, that changes. All business payments or purchases that exceed $600 in a calendar year will need to be accompanied by a 1099 filing. That means obtaining the taxpayer ID number of the individual or corporation you’re making the payment to — even if it’s a giant retailer like Staples or Best Buy — at the time of the transaction, or else facing IRS penalties.

In essence, the 1099-Misc is having its role changed from a form for tracking off-payroll employment to one that must accompany virtually any sizeable business transaction.

“Just with business travel it would include hotels, rental cars,” Henschke says. “Phone service: 1099. Computer service: 1099. Whoever does your postage meter: 1099. You do a little advertising, Yellow Pages: 1099. Your landlord: 1099. You might as well just keep them in your pocket and hand them out as you go around every day.”

The IRS jackboots are clicking louder and louder on the cobblestones. These fine folks will monitor and be in charge of your every transaction. They will have to monitor your life so as to direct your health care — have you purchased your Obamacare policy? If not, go to jail. Did you fail to report income from the sale of your lawn mower? Go to jail. Did you fail to submit a 1099 for the independent guy who paved your driveway? Go to Jail. Did your business fail to submit its 1099’s on time? Pay a fine and go to Jail.

This abomination needs to be killed PDQ or we’ll all have to spend our entire lives filling out forms for our socialist government to torment us with. And maybe the Sun God can explain why he had to hide this monster in the health bill.

I’d rather go to jail than comply with this involuntary servitude. Give me liberty or give me death.

Another Attack on Your Wallet, Your Time, and Your Freedom

May 10th, 2010

In an earlier post I spoke out about the paperwork burden that Obamacare was certain to impose on all of us. Here’s another specific example: Health care law’s massive, hidden tax change Under this provision hidden in the law’s 2,400 pages all purchase transactions of $600 or more in goods or services would trigger the need for the buyer/payer to submit a 1099 form to the IRS and the seller. So under this law if you stock your shop with goods from 500 suppliers over a year’s time, and you buy more than $600 worth of goods from any supplier, you’d have to send out 1099s to and for each such supplier. You’d have to maintain records of the aggregate purchases from each supplier. Then, at the end of the year you’d have to comb through these records and mail out 1099 forms, maybe hundreds of them. Then comes an audit where you’d have to justify the accuracy of your involuntary servitude clerical work. And if you’re on the receiving end of these 1099s, heaven help you if one or more gets lost in the mail.

This is another of those government-growth-goodies that lurk in the health reform law. And can some Democrat policy wonk tell me why this is part of the health reform law — other than as a massive attempt to grab additional revenue?

Government grows, you pay.

Liberty and Democrats

May 7th, 2010

How often we hear liberal democrats brag about their efforts to prevent violations of our civil rights — the Patriot Act, Wire Tapping — Edgar Hoover and the Evil Bush Administration, etc.

Well, now we have bills in congress such as the so-called Immigration Reform bill that proposes national ID Cards, and the Financial Reform Bill that gives the government unprecedented power to snoop into every detail of our financial affairs.

Senator Shelby points out that:

“The Democrats’ new bureaucracy poses a threat to our privacy,” Shelby said, “Under section 1022 of their bill, the new bureau would collect any information it chooses from businesses and consumers including personal characteristics and financial information.

“Individuals could be required to provide the new agency with written answers–under oath–to any question posed by the bureau regarding their personal financial information.”

This information along with all other information collected by federal financial regulators can be used by the Office of Financial Research to monitor the entire financial system for so-called systemic risk.

I guess my ATM withdrawals represent a potential “systemic risk.” Do yours?

Now ask yourself which faction in congress wears the jack boots.

Cap&Trade + VAT = Economic Catastrophe

May 5th, 2010

Chris Horner, author of “How Obama’s Green Policies Will Steal Your Freedom and Bankrupt America” believes that the Cap & Trade bill currently being considered by the Senate will yield the the tax gusher that Obama needs to fund his out-of-control government juggernaut. Bigger and even less visible than the VAT, Cap & Trade may be passed without committee hearings, perhaps using reconciliation, blindly in the middle of the night — as is Harry Reid’s habit.

Horner goes on to say:

Obama and his team have long sought to impose the energy-rationing agenda, whose marquee item is the “cap-and-trade” scheme which would not, according to anyone, detectably impact the climate. It isn’t about the climate. The climate is the latest excuse, or vehicle, for the Left’s agenda.

Cap-and-trade would, however, give the state the power to decide how much of something that the current political class disfavors — our most abundant and reliable energy sources — the private sector could have. That is the issue. As is that it would “generate billions of dollars.” Obama’s plan all along has been to use these revenues to underwrite his social engineering.

Either way you slice it, the tax train is bearing down on us. Cap & Trade is being sold as a no-cost policy to save the planet. With that done Congress can turn to the VAT to finish the job of completely destroying the free market economy of the United States.

Don’t be fooled.

Who’s Afraid of Whom?

April 28th, 2010

So Obama calls out the swat team to suppress and terrorize a local tea party in the vicinity of where he’s speaking? Look at the terrorist tea partiers here. Courtesy of Andrew Brietbart’s Big Government Blog, originally filmed by SharpElbows.Net”

If the government fears the people it is inclined to become repressive. If the people fear the government, the government is already repressive. Either way, the situation is extremely grave.

Border Patrol Arrogance vs. Competence

April 5th, 2010

On trip last week from Tucson to San Diego and back we were stopped eight times at Border Patrol checkpoints. On one of these occasions, my brother driving the car, seeing no sign from the officer that he wanted us to stop, ran through the checkpoint at slow speed. The officer banged his fist on the top of the car and ordered us to stop. It was obvious that he considered this a gross violation of his considerable authority. He pointed out the stop sign ahead of us. I pointed out his passive behavior and he challenged me to characterize it more fully, obviously trying to pick a verbal fight. I was at a loss for words and said nothing, but pointed out that he was standing a distance away from the stop sign. He questioned us about where we came from, where we were going, and our citizenship then let us pass.

(an Arizona checkpoint on I-19)

Now one might accept this as just one more very minor example of inconvenience in the interest of border peace, drug control and crime prevention. My wife scolded me for being so petulant in the face of authority. But this same cardboard cutout, bang on the roof, demand that I recognize the authority of a FEDERAL OFFICER had occurred to me on a prior occasion. So this time I was doubly annoyed.

We are being conditioned to accept ever increasing scrutiny by government agencies. This includes air travel pat-down searches, automated traffic enforcement cameras, border patrol and DUI road-blocks. There is recurring buzz about the usefulness of government issued ID cards for everyone.

A Government Accountability Office report released in August 2009 concluded that Border Patrol checkpoints may help the mission, but due to inadequate data collection nobody really knows for sure how effective they really are or what they cost to operate. So there is no way to even evaluate whether these nuisances are worth the hassle. Like DHS’s airport security measures, the border patrol checkpoints certainly annoy a lot more honest citizens than illegal aliens.

So the question becomes, should honest citizens resist these seemingly petty infringements upon our liberties? What do we citizens imply (or invite) by putting up with one annoying infringement after another? When does an annoyance become the seed of a tyranny?

Vigilance is the price of liberty.

When a MONSTER Emerges…

March 21st, 2010
Repeal it. Kill It.  This MONSTER will eat us alive!

Our congress has done us a dirty deed by lies, deceit, bribery and unbelievable arrogance. The health care bill just passed is another step toward socialism and tyranny, plain and simple. This is an example of African pimp style absence of spending restraint — roll the prostitutes’ john, buy a Cadillac on easy credit, equip it with every do-dah and goo-gah, get drunk, drive it as fast as it will go, crash it and walk away — Yah, Obama, I’m talking about you!

Citizens of our country spilled a lot of blood (including a little of mine) to resist the threat of a communist tyranny. But today there are those in our government that see nothing wrong with destroying liberties that we fought to protect. Even though the Democrats that have forced the health care takeover claim that “it’s for our own good” or “it’s for the children” or “it’s historic”, in fact it is an attack on our liberties as citizens and our constitutional system of government. It is a step toward tyranny. Who will defend us against this attack from within?

If we citizens of America value our liberty we must destroy the monster, repeal the bill, throw out the politicians who foisted this miserable mess upon us. Years ago during a visit as a student to La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, my host pointed out a lamp post in the main city square. He proudly said, “Here’s where we hang our politicians.” Since then I’ve always thought that the regular hanging of a random politician or government official might focus the minds of those we send to Washington. Maybe they’d pay attention to the voices of citizens rather than assuming that they know better. Have them walk past that the lamp post on their way to work every day.

When Things Go Wrong

March 20th, 2010

Government run health care, several incremental steps beyond Medicare and Social Security is a move toward government control of everything and everyone. As the government takes control of our lives the self-same government is the only source for resolution of our problems when something goes wrong. And as the government becomes ever more arrogant and repressive, the only way to complain effectively is by mass protest, sometimes violent.

This week in Russia the people in over 50 rallies protested government actions that directly affect their lives. In addition to calling for “Free Speech, Free Elections!” they protested numerous economic problems blamed on government micro-management of the economy.

Scenes such as this are common in countries such as France, Turkey and Greece, where citizens view the government as the only solution to their perceived woes. They block highways and wave signs in protest. They don’t see any other means of resolving their problems.

As our country moves toward a socialist, government dominated economy the government becomes ever more the focus of discontent. You don’t complain about your medical treatment to he local hospital administrator. He’ll just open the rule-book and tell you he’s “doing it all by the book.” So your only alternative is to go out and wave a sign, hoping to be joined by others and noticed by government officials.

Freedom is not only precious for the fresh air one is able to breath, but also for the way that it keeps small problems small and responsibility where it belongs.

This weekend’s attack on our freedom by the Democrats in congress isn’t the first nor the last attempt by government to dominate us. The consequences are dire.

Can it Possibly Get This Ugly?

March 13th, 2010

Is it believable?

There is speculation that the Pelosi Democrats are planning to use an arcane maneuver called the Slaughter Rule to somehow pass the Senate healthcare bill without even voting on it. This is such a bizarre scenario that I can’t accept it as realistic. But should it happen the country would have ample reason to rise up in armed revolt.

Obama Insults Friends, Bows to Communist Tyrants

February 21st, 2010

The picture shows the Dalai Lama being escorted out the back door or the White House past bags of uncollected garbage. This mis-treatment of a foreign dignitary was apparently a concession to the Chinese communist government.

Mr. Obama, you’re a coward, a pussy and a disgrace to your country.

Triple Your Boodle – Answer The Census!

February 5th, 2010

You’ve probably seen one or more of the U.S. Government’s 2010 Census promotion ads. You’re supposed to believe that by filling out the census form you’ll be guaranteeing yourself goodies from the government. Now I suppose that to the socialists in congress and the White House this all makes sense. But then we learn that the Sun God’s minions will be spending $340 Million dollars on this advertising foolishness, including a $2.5 Million ad in the Superbowl TV coverage.

In a Michelle Malkin article we also discover that “the Census will triple its total budget from 2000 to $15 billion.” That’s $5.00 per person in the U.S. Don’t you think a private firm could do the job for about $1.0 Billion or so, and walk away with a hefty profit? But then there would be no boodle for ACORN or your local equivalent. So it won’t be done.

The IRS is reportedly buying lots of shotguns. I’m waiting for the Census Bureau to issue a similar request for quotations any day now.

Damn Democrat Damage

February 3rd, 2010

It just goes on and on — the Obama/Pelosi/Reid juggernaut of foolishness and irresponsibility.

The Financial Transaction Tax is one of those sleeper bills that is sitting in congress waiting to be sprung on the country late some Saturday night when everyone is engrossed in a sports program on TV. This tax proposes to raise $150 Billion dollars according to its supporters. It is supposed to make “Wall Street pay back Main street” – a blatant demagogic appeal to class envy and economic ignorance. And yet, the supporters claim it “won’t do any harm.” The idiotic contention that a $150 Billion theft is harmless illustrates just how economically illiterate these people really are. If this thing passes it will severely harm the financial markets which are, after all, one of the few industries in which the U.S.A. remains preeminent.

Use of TARP Funds as an Obama slush fund. The $700 Billion TARP program was never used to purchase toxic assets as was originally promised. Instead it has been raided to buy bank stock, for automobile company bail-outs (if you can call theft a bail-out), to rescue AIG (and in so doing backstop Goldman Sachs) and for home mortgage bail-outs. These uses were not specifically authorized by the reckless and sloppy language of the original bill. So now the president wants to deploy the TARP funds for a $30 Billion program to bribe banks into making small business loans. Given that the SBA is supposed to be in the small business loan business, which has been a complete, useless failure from day one, who would argue that a new government-backed small business loan program will do anything more than provide a slush fund to pay off political allies and cronies? Use the unspent and returned TARP funds to pay down the obscene national debt.

Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell The policy of hiding the participation of homosexuals in the military services by asking everyone to be a blind liar was a bad idea to begin with. The proposal to abandon the policy of excluding homosexuals from the military is an even worse proposal for one simple reason. The military’s business is to exert horrific deadly force. Part of that mission is accomplished by intimidating the enemy. One doesn’t increase intimidation by feminizing the force with a bunch of drag queens. The participation of homosexual men in an organization dedicated to waging warfare, the most exclusively masculine of all human activities, is unnecessary and detrimental. The same can be said for the inclusion of women in such activities.

Health Care Bill The president and his minions continue to believe that if people can simply be convinced of its benefits, then it will pass. The Dems don’t understand that the country does not want the bill, any of it. They have created a bill that says, “We want to cut off one of your arms. You can argue with us about which arm you are willing to sacrifice — that’s bi-partisanship — but you can’t just say “I don’t want any arms cut off.” The silver lining in this thing is that people seem to be waking up enough to realize the damage that could be done, so it may not pass — and the Dems may be thrown out of power in November 2010. But in the meantime the damage they can do is truly mind-numbing.

All of this and a $3.5 Trillion budget with a $1.8 Trillion deficit, too. That’s Not Change I Can Believe In!

Egotistical Sun God — It’s All About Who?

January 27th, 2010

The Sun God lets you know who he really is, what he considers important. It’s all about him. See the video from his recent “jobs” speech in which he mentions himself 132 times!

(Thanks to Americans for Prosperity)

It is reported that he intends tonight in the State of the Union speech to repackage himself as a Jobs God. Let’s see how that works out.

Looking Up the President’s Nostrils

January 7th, 2010

Thanks to Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com article by Paul A. Rahe. Here is the concluding quote from the article:

President Obama is a man of breathtaking self-regard and self-absorption. As many have noted, he can hardly give a speech without eulogizing himself and intimating that his Presidency marks a watershed in American, if not world history. In the same fashion, he seems to take a certain malicious — one might even say, childish — pleasure in humiliating his rivals and underlings.

We are left to wonder what will happen when it becomes evident, even to the President — as it surely will — that he is an exceedingly ordinary man who blundered into an extraordinary situation and not a Messiah at all.

That says it all. Nothing to add here.

Guarded by a Goofball

December 30th, 2009

Don’t worry folks, the system worked. The undy-bomb didn’t go off. Look at me, Big Sis. “If one of them bad things flys over, well, I’ll just shoot it down — if I can figure out where the trigger is.”

Notice all my safety equipment, glasses, ear protectors. And the gun isn’t loaded. Now that’s safety.

Anyway, it’s Bush’s fault. He let those two guys that planned the attack loose from Gitmo. Unlike us — we’re giving them a fair trial before letting them loose. Anyway, the boss says this guy was an “isolated extremist,” which makes him a common criminal, not a terrorist.

Relax. Everything’s under control.

Obama: “Have a Very Mao Christmas”

December 23rd, 2009

Breitbart reports EXCLUSIVE: Transvestites, Mao And Obama Ornaments Decorate White House Christmas Tree

Obama continues to flaunt his left-wing, urban-black, lower-class credentials, even in decorating the White House Christmas tree, where ornaments feature, who else but that Yuletide loving Chinese mass murderer Mao TseDung. And for entertainment another bauble features “legendary transvestite Hedda Lettuce” (maybe somebody knows something about that). And finally — TA_TA! — the sun god as a face on Mount Rushmore.

We’ll undoubtedly be told that the fault isn’t with the Prez or the 1st lady, but with the “designer”, Simon Doonan, hired to do the display. BS! It’s the responsibility of the person hiring the designer to sign off on his work. And it’s not as if Doonan was an unknown quantity. He’s apparently responsible for numerous other disgustingly political holiday displays.

It’s just another example of Obama’s arrogance and narcissism.

Harry Reid & Jalapeños

December 19th, 2009

The climate summit in Copenhagen collapsed under the weight of its anti-American agenda. Hooray for that! The discrediting of the AGW climate scare goes on, not so much because of the juicy emails, but because of evidence that the raw data was flagrantly cooked. A truly independent audit of this will show whether the data was dishonestly adjusted and cherry picked to support an agenda. In any case the fever-panic has subsided for a while, even if congress still believes in the fairy tale. Meanwhile the Cap & Tax bill will get the Harry Reid treatment.

The U.S. Senate, under the criminal guidance of Harry Reid continues to try and force a government take-over of the health care industry, something that a growing majority of Americans say the don’t want to happen.

In a related vein, yesterday I was busy with Christmas errands and stopped to get a bean burrito at a favorite restaurant. It was the cheapest food on the menu, but I loaded it up with free salsa and covered the whole thing with sliced jalapeño peppers. It tasted good going down, but today I’m paying the real price of the burrito.

Sometime soon, if Harry gets his way, they’ll pass the health care takeover bill. Then they’ll get to read it. Then it goes back to the back room where more salsa and jalapeños will be added. I hope the country’s stomach is stronger than mine is.

$100 Billion for Communist Backed Scheme

December 17th, 2009

So Hillary and Barack want to give $100 Billion to the people celebrated by this crowd? They’re crazy of stupid or both. Anyone who wonders where the communists went after the fall of the Soviet Union now knows that they became greenies. A curse on them and theirs. And anyone who wonders about the underlying motive of the AGW movement, just play this video.

The only good communist is a dead communist.

Sin Bins and GLSEN

December 16th, 2009

Two stories, almost too ugly to be true … the British have a nanny Children’s Secretary named Ed Balls. He’s proposing to expand a program characterized as “Sin Bins” wherein closed circuit tv cameras will be installed in 20,000 homes of “the worst families” per a Daily Express article quoted below: (tip to TheUnbrokenWindow.com for finding the story)

THOUSANDS of the worst families in England are to be put in “sin bins” in a bid to change their bad behavior, Ed Balls announced yesterday.

The Children’s Secretary set out £400million plans to put 20,000 problem families under 24-hour CCTV super-vision in their own homes.

They will be monitored to ensure that children attend school, go to bed on time and eat proper meals.

Private security guards will also be sent round to carry out home checks, while parents will be given help to combat drug and alcohol addiction.

This is the kind of insanity one gets when government pretends to be the ultimate nanny.

The second story has been developing for a while. Barack Obama has installed a “School Safety Czar” named Kevin Jennings. Jennings is the author of a book called “Queering of Elementary Education: Advancing the Dialogue About Sexualities and Schooling” advocating a gay agenda in schools. He is also the founder of GLSEN, an organization dedicated to promoting homosexuality and pedophilia among grammar school children and adults. Since Jennings became a government official GLSEN’s current activities have been exposed. These include lewd reading lists promoting homosexual activities among school kids, homosexual activities between adult men and young male children, promotion of homosexual practices such as “fisting” for children 7-12 years old, and such other descriptions which make me want to puke. (Read this material linked above, if you have a strong stomach for filth.)

I suppose Mr. Jennings and Mr. Balls are both experts in child rearing according to some twisted leftist definition. But these two stories illustrate the insanity of letting government intrude into the lives of private citizens. These “experts” pretend to know what’s best for you and your children. I cringe every time a politician starts talking about “Our Children.” Whose children?

I can’t speak to the amazing and dismaying willingness of the British to tolerate the growing surveillance society and the likes of Mr. Balls. But I can speak to the utter depravity of letting Kevin Jennings be a “Safe Schools Czar.” The fact that he was appointed and that, after what has been revealed about him, Jennings remains in a position of power speaks to President Obama’s utter contempt for his country and its citizens.

Don’t say it can’t happen here. It already is.

The Sun God’s Court of Advisors

November 25th, 2009

No wonder the Sun God is so ignorant when it comes to economics. Look at the private sector experience of his cabinet compared to that of previous presidents since 1900.

(Lifted from The Enterprise Blog)

No wonder he trusts government and cares nothing about wrecking the private sector.

Ignorance begets ineptitude.

Obummer To Outgas in Copenhagen

We now read that our Sun God President will promise at the upcoming Copenhagen climate conference big reductions in greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions from the U.S. What makes him think he can make and keep this promise? Presumably he’s basing it on the Boxer/Kerry bill making its way though the House of Representatives. But what does this portend for American citizens?

See Andrew Breitbat’s Big Government for a succinct summary of why cap and trade is a terrible idea and won’t work even if you think it’s necessary to reduce CO2 emissions.
Barbara Boxer’s Cap-and-Trade Energy Tax Won’t Work The summary of the article is as follows:

The bottom line: Sen. Barbara Boxer’s Cap-and-Trade energy tax will cost your family up to $2,000 per year, will destroy about 2.4 million American jobs and will actually increase global greenhouse gas emissions.

These multi-trillion dollar hits on the U.S. economy (socialized health-care, cap & trade, stimulus, bailouts) from the socialists in the white house and congress promise to wreck our economy and way of life for all time.

Although many suspect that congress won’t pass cap and trade, especially if Pelosi-care passes and porks up the budget to bursting, don’t count on that.

Also, see my prior article U.S. Sovereignty At Stake in Copenhagen concerning Copenhagen’s real objectives. Hint, it’s not about ecology, it’s about your wealth.

Napolitano Worries About Muslims Hurt Feelings

November 9th, 2009

Characteristically, for the Obama gang, we learn from AP that our Secretary of Homeland Security is more worried about potential hurt feelings among Muslims than she is about terrorism.

“Janet Napolitano says her agency is working with groups across the United States to try to deflect any backlash against American Muslims following Thursday’s rampage by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile we also learn more about Maj. Hasan’s aleged attempts to contact Al Qaeda. From ABC News:

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

Obama Cult of Personality in Grade Schools

November 5th, 2009

If you haven’t seen this in BigGovernment.com you should take the time to do so. It is the best illustration available of the “cult of personality” that characterizes President Barack Obama’s support.
ELEMENTARY EPIDEMIC: 11 Uncovered Videos Show School Children Performing Praises to Obama

There is nothing wrong with teaching children the fundamentals of patriotism. There is nothing wrong with teaching children with inspirational examples of achievement. Perhaps there is not even anything wrong with using President Obama as an inspirational example for underachieving and under motivated black children.

But there is something absolutely evil and un-American about the deification of the president through blatant political propaganda, and it is especially revolting when this propaganda is imposed upon school children.

It works for Hugo Chavez, it works for Castro, it worked for Mao and Lenin, so why not for Barack?

Seattle Unionists Lose Another Bunch of Jobs

October 28th, 2009

Worth reading, from Boomburg: Boeing Chooses South Carolina Over Seattle for Second 787 Line This describes Boeing’s decision to locate manufacturing in a right-to-work state rather than in Seattle after the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union in Seattle refused to agree to a no-strike provision. So the union mentality once again deprives its membership of jobs. Unions have killed too many industries in this country: steel, textiles, auto manufacturing, just to name a few. And don’t forget the destructive effect of intrusive and expensive government in the whole equation. Seattle used to be Boeing’s headquarters and a stalwart part of the Washington State economy. They moved headquarters to Chicago a few years ago for some reason I don’t remember. Perhaps that will eventually land in South Carolina as well.
