Bribe Politicians – Poison Soldiers

December 22nd, 2008

Recently in the Seattle Times newspaper:

Earmark helps businesses, not troops

Seattle Times special report | After being lobbied by companies making a decontamination powder, powerful U.S. senators Charles Schumer, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Arlen Specter forced the military to keep buying what it considers inferior chemical-warfare protection for the troops.

By Christine Willmsen and David Heath

Seattle Times staff reporters

This article describes the way that Hillary Clinton, Arlen Specter and Charles Schumer, in return for campaign contributions, and to protect local business interests, used earmarks to deprive U.S. troops of a vastly more effective defense against injury and death by chemical weapons. The military wants to replace a less effective M291 powder kit with a new, superior lotion invented in Canada. The senators consider bribes by Rhom and Haas to their campaign funds more important than soldier survival.

If this crass venality doesn’t make your blood boil, what would?

The headline should read:
“Crooked Senators Condemn U.S. Soldiers to Brutal Deaths In Return for Campaign Loot”

Robert Mugabe for Secretary of Health & Human Services

December 15th, 2008

Say it’s not true!

But maybe with the money riot going on it makes sense. After all, Robert needs a new job. And Zimbabwe’s money is worth about what the dollar is about to be worth. Experience counts.

Glory, Glory, Silly Glory

Saw this on Drudge Report and couldn’t resist linking to it.

Monuments and government should not be mixed. The Brits have a better idea, leave the glory to the silly royalty and govern from 10 Downing St.
