Worth reading, from Boomburg: Boeing Chooses South Carolina Over Seattle for Second 787 Line This describes Boeing’s decision to locate manufacturing in a right-to-work state rather than in Seattle after the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union in Seattle refused to agree to a no-strike provision. So the union mentality once again deprives its membership of jobs. Unions have killed too many industries in this country: steel, textiles, auto manufacturing, just to name a few. And don’t forget the destructive effect of intrusive and expensive government in the whole equation. Seattle used to be Boeing’s headquarters and a stalwart part of the Washington State economy. They moved headquarters to Chicago a few years ago for some reason I don’t remember. Perhaps that will eventually land in South Carolina as well.
Here is Henry Blodget’s take on the upcoming re-bailout of GM’s financing company, GMAC.
But hey, what’s a few billion more?
Once again, Coyote Blog the prolific and intellectual powerhouse has brought to my attention a great video source to argue that Global Warming is a political issue, not a scientific one. Whatever the scientists want to argue about (or not argue about) isn’t the issue. Global climate has become a political movement led by people who thrive on any scare/crisis/mania that, in their opinion, will enlarge the regulatory role of government in human affairs. It matters little whether this is cause is global warming, global climate change, global cooling, holes in the ozone layer, Y2K, energy crisis, over-population, SARS, swine flu, bird flu, alar in apples, butter, trans-fats, or obesity. It is the same people with the same motives. The cause is immaterial to the proposed “solution,” more government control of our lives.
See the video:
Resist cap and tax legislation, tell your representatives that the U.N.’s global warming conferences (Kyoto, Copenhagen, etc.) are nonsense. Tell Al Gore to take a cold bath.
If you’ve been diagnosed “probable” or “presumed” 2009 H1N1 or “swine flu” in recent months, you may be surprised to know this: odds are you didn’t have H1N1 flu.
In fact, you probably didn’t have flu at all. That’s according to state-by-state test results obtained in a three-month-long CBS News investigation.
Was the government “exaggeration” due to a) ignorance or willful misrepresentation of flu test results, and/or b) the fact that CDC halted testing — apparently under the assumption that a pandemic was in fact under way. The government says so, so why test? Now CDC is stonewalling when asked to provide more accurate information. Read the article in the link above.
The federal government has botched the flu vaccine production, scared hell out of the citizenry, lied about the extent of the “pandemic” and produced a vaccine some (including me) fear is unsafe. Now, having announced a national emergency and launching the production of tens of millions of doses of vaccine, they’re apparently willing to lie about the extent of the health threat, continuing to recommend shots — so as not to be embarrassed, one presumes.
Remember, this is the same gang of liars that want to take over the entire health care industry. Do you trust them with your health?
After the mugging of the vaccine producing pharmaceutical industry by Hillary Clinton in 1993 the federal government became the dominant purchaser and price setter for vaccines in the U.S. The result of this was that major pharmaceutical companies simply abandoned the business of vaccine research and production, leaving it largely to overseas producers.
Now even HHS Secretary Sebelius complains that:
Four of the five manufacturers of H1N1 vaccines are foreign companies — a fact that alarmed lawmakers, who expressed concern about the ability of the federal government to secure enough vaccine to prevent the spread of the swine flu virus. Some expressed even greater concern that the lag in vaccine production could mean the H1N1 flu shots will arrive too late to do any good, citing a recent study that predicted that the most cases of swine flu will occur this week…
Sebelius said the U.S. is “at the front of the line” in terms of getting the vaccines as they’re produced but noted the need to expand the country’s manufacturing capacity.
“We are still too dependent in the United States on vaccination production in other countries,” Sebelius said at a hearing on the topic.
Vaccine manufacturers worldwide are “using old technology,” Sebelius explained, stressing the need to convert from egg-based to cell-based vaccine development.
OK, Hillary, stuff that in your
bong pipe and smoke it!
So now the sun-god prez declares a national emergency brought on by government incompetence and socialist destruction of private sector enterprise. These same geniuses now want to do the same thing to the entire health care industry in the U.S.
Crisis after crisis. Welcome to Obamacare folks.
The Party of European Socialist held their 3rd “Global Progressive Forum” wherein Bill Clinton was the keynote speaker. Howard Dean was a prominent Democrat participant in prior meetings of this socialist organization. See below (credit FoundingBloggers.com):
Maybe I’ve misinterpreted him, but Clinton seems to be saying that since the demise of the Soviet communist empire as a model of socialist society it has been hard for socialists to coalesce on their agenda, and this meeting of socialists helps to remedy that loss.
So what does this mean? Well, socialism is the ideology that sees society as family with government as the “father and mother” and citizens as the “children,” to be cared for, educated, and directed. Socialists like to think of society as an organic entity whose activities should be motivated by government leadership. And the government should be populated with persons of superior intellect and endless compassion, leading to a safe, just society with fairness to all. Does this all sound familiar? Does this sound like the Obama, Pelosi, Reid line of bull?
In practice, however, socialist utopias always resort to forceful coercion — dictatorship and tyranny. A socialist government fractures into a dictatorship when the elite, purely intentioned parent-experts disagree with one another, and the strongest of the bunch declares himself to be the ultimate authority (for the good of the children, of course). And because some “children” object to their dependent status and refuse to be lead or brain-washed, they have to be forced — for the good of society. The more government intrudes into our lives the more force is needed to keep order. Today’s Obama gang is to be pitied because they believe themselves to be so absolutely pure in motive that they are truly hurt by criticism. They believe that the children just don’t understand how this is all being done for their own good. And how could anyone think they’d ever resort to force?
But as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi ram through their unconstitutional health care take-over (for our own good, of course), employing dishonest if not criminal tactics such as stuffing costs into unrelated bills, bypassing constitutional requirements by attaching the health bill as an amendment to an already passed house bill, hiding bill drafting in dark closets, compelling votes on 1,500 page bills nobody has had a chance to read, this is force. See quote below from FreedomWorks.org:
In the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid is attempting to hide the enormous costs of ObamaCare by breaking-out some of the more expensive measures like the Medicare Doctor Fix into separate legislation. The Congressional Budget Office has already estimated the bare-bones version of the bill will cost $800 billion, but the real cost is actually much higher when you add up all the things they are trying to move separately. Reid has also indicated he will circumvent the U.S. Constitution, which requires bills like this to begin in the House, by stripping the text of another unrelated bill already passed by the House and inserting the health care overhaul as an amendment.
Emphasis added to highlight criminal intent.
And when Americans rebel at the commandment to buy government specified insurance plans, the government will will use force. What other alternative will there be?
More evidence of Democratic Party’s socialist agenda. Yes, I said SOCIALIST. They can’t hide it.
Andrew Marcus produces a very interesting study in a BigGovernment.com article. While it is risky and sometimes unwise to infer too much from implied relationships, there are times when it is necessary to connect the dots and conclude, once again, that Obama should be judged by the company he keeps. Please read the article. I can’t really add any thing original to it, but you’ll probably conclude, like me, that it is yet more solid evidence of Obama’s socialist mentality and agenda. And this stuff hasn’t seen the light of day in the mainstream media. Had it been known before the election would Obama have won?
Is Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty?
Although Lord Monckton skips over the fact that U.S. treaties have to be ratified by the full Senate, many treaties have been signed by the presidents and not ratified, but still cause great mischief.
From the Harvard Law Journal:
Under contemporary treaty practice, a nation’s signature of a treaty, especially a multilateral treaty, typically does not make the nation a party to the treaty. Rather, nations become parties to treaties by an act of ratification or accession, either by depositing an instrument of ratification or accession with a depositary (for multilateral treaties) or exchanging instruments of ratification (for bilateral treaties). The signing of treaties under this practice is at most an indication that the terms of the treaty are satisfactory to the executive institution in that nation charged with negotiating and signing treaties and does not constitute a promise that the nation will become a party to the treaty.
Despite the modern separation between signature and ratification, many international lawyers and academics contend that when a nation signs a treaty, it is bound to refrain from actions that would defeat the object and purpose of the treaty until such time as it makes clear its intention not to become a party to the treaty.
Read the whole treaty draft:
Having scanned but not read the whole treaty draft (which is 180 pages long) it is clear to me that this treaty:
- Is based on the mythology and hysteria of human caused, catastrophic global warming according to the IPCC.
- Is at its heart, not about climate. It is about redistribution of national wealth from developed to developing countries.
- It gives power, if not sovereignty, to an international body that does not have our best interests at heart.
- It is not in the interest of the U.S. to sign or ratify such a blatant attempt by the international community to mug us.
The Copenhegan committee presumes to “require a shift in the global investment patterns” so that “financing allocation shall clearly respond to the priorities identified by the international community”. They further assert that developed countries are at fault for alleged warming of the climate. See the treaty language below.
PP.13 Recognizing that current and potential climate change impacts require a shift in the global investment patterns and that criteria for financing allocation shall clearly respond to the priorities identified by the international community, with climate change stabilization being one of these priorities.
PP.14 Acknowledging that current atmospheric concentrations are principally the result of historical emissions of greenhouse gases, the most significant share of which has originated in developed countries.
PP.15 Further acknowledging that developed countries have a historical responsibility for their disproportionate contribution to the causes and consequences of climate change, reflecting their disproportionate historical use of a shared global carbon space since 1850 as well as their proposed continuing disproportionate use of the remaining global carbon space.
1. [[[As assessed by the IPCC in its Fourth Assessment Report] Warming of the climate system, as a consequence of human activity, is unequivocal. [Global atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased significantly because of human activities since 1750.]
2. Current atmospheric concentrations are principally the result of historical emissions of greenhouse gases, [the largest share of which has originated in] [originating from] developed countries [Parties].
So, according to this treaty, there is a “debt” owed by developed countries such as the U.S.A to the developing countries (such as North Korea, Zimbabwe and Cuba?). In fact (see below) the Annex I countries (such as U.S.A) are expected to pay the “full cost” of the program for the poor folks, including “actions taken in the context of sustainable development”.
33. In the light of a shared vision based on historic responsibility/emissions, debt/per-capita emissions convergence/an equitable allocation of a shared atmospheric resource, [and in accordance with the provisions of the Convention,] Annex I Parties shall provide new and additional financial resources to meet the full costs incurred by developing country Parties [in complying with their obligations under Article 12, paragraph 1, and the full incremental costs of implementing measures that are covered by Article 4, paragraph 1] [, particularly the most vulnerable countries including LDCs and SIDs, of meeting their commitments, towards the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention]. They shall also provide new and additional funding to cover the full incremental costs incurred by developing countries in implementing nationally appropriate mitigation actions undertaken in the context of sustainable development. Annex I Parties commit the amount of [ ] billion [Euros/dollars] in order to enable mitigation and adaptation actions in developing countries for the period now up to 2012. The [Conference of the] Parties shall periodically review the adequacy of levels of financing required to support mitigation and adaptation actions in developing countries, including a comprehensive review not later than 2011.
This treaty apparently gives the COP (Copenhegan committee) authority to govern the financial transactions anticipated by the treaty.See alternative texts from the treaty below.
(c) Alternative 1:
The financial mechanism shall operate and function under the authority, governance and guidance of, and be fully accountable to, the COP, which shall decide on its policies, programme priorities and eligibility criteria, and allocation of resources for adaptation, mitigation, technology and capacity-building and any other function that may be determined by the COP;
The financial mechanism [shall][should] function under the guidance of [the COP] [the
Meeting of the Parties to the Copenhagen Agreement];
The financial mechanism shall function under the strategic guidance of the COP.
Apparently the members of this committee anticipate the power to dragoon not only public, but also private monies into their scheme. Here are alternative policies that the parties will select and agree upon.
4. [Generation][Provision] of financial resources
12. All Parties, in accordance with their respective capabilities, shall implement and periodically report on policies and instruments to mobilize public and private financial resources, improve enabling
environments for investment in support of measures to mitigate and adapt to climate change outlined in Article 4.1 of the Convention.
The public sector shall be the major source of funds, while market mechanisms and other private-sector sources would play a complementary role in addressing climate change. Public finance may also be used to leverage private investment and to provide incentives for additional efforts.
Private funding will be the main source of investment, channelled via appropriate policy frameworks and regulations that create enabling environments and demand for climate change technologies. Financing
the incremental costs of technologies for adaptation and mitigation is dependent on public sources of finance and public policies. Where it is provided, public finance should be directed to areas that cannot
be adequately financed by the private sector to leverage private investment and to provide incentives for additional efforts.
Both public and private finance should play a major role in the implementation of this Agreement. Public finance should leverage private investment and provide incentives for additional efforts, and be directed towards areas that cannot be adequately financed by the private sector, in particular for adaptation. Private funding, channelled via appropriate policy frameworks, should be the main source of necessary investment for mitigation. Parties should encourage the establishment of a robust carbon price signal, including through a progressive integration into the global carbon market, as a key means to deliver cost-effective emissions reductions globally.
If President Obama signs this abomination he proves, once and for all, that he hates this country, the one he’s constantly apologizing about. So he’ll probably sign it. If the U.S. Senate then ratifies this treaty, then Lord Monckton will be proven correct. The basic purpose of this treaty is to stick it to the U.S.A.
We will be surrendering our sovereignty to a miserable bunch of socialist international bureaucrats.
How does that HOPEN-CHANGE grab you?
From Washington Times via Breitbart.
Kinston, a small town in North Carolina, held an election in which it was decided that the town should have non-partisan ballots for city elections (mayor, city council, etc.) as is common in most North Carolina towns. The Obama Department of Justice (which approves or disapproves changes in Kinston election laws under the 1965 Voting Rights Act) has ruled that the city must have partisan representation, on the basis that black people are too dumb and lazy to vote for Democrats without partisan ballot labeling. And only Democrats will represent the best interests of these (presumably) ignorant people.
In a letter dated Aug. 17, the city received the Justice Department’s answer: Elections must remain partisan because the change’s “effect will be strictly racial.”
“Removing the partisan cue in municipal elections will, in all likelihood, eliminate the single factor that allows black candidates to be elected to office,” Loretta King, who at the time was the acting head of the Justice Department’s civil rights division, wrote in a letter to the city.
Ms. King wrote that voters in Kinston vote more along racial than party lines and without the potential for voting a straight Democratic ticket, “the limited remaining support from white voters for a black Democratic candidate will diminish even more.”
Ms. King is the same official who put a stop to the New Black Panther Party case. In that case, the Justice Department filed a civil complaint in Philadelphia after two members of the black revolutionary group dressed in quasi-military garb stood outside a polling place on election last year and purportedly intimidated voters with racial insults, slurs and a nightstick.
So even with a
half black president and a black attorney general we have the plantation ethic at work. Blacks must vote Democrat — uncle Tom Republican voters will be arrested and sent to reeducation camps, because they are too ignorant to know where their own interests lie.
Behold! These Obama people are black slave masters.
This article deals with an issue not even mentioned in the ABC,NBC,PBS,NBC, NY Times and other leftist media.
53 House Republicans Call on Obama to Fire Keven Jennings Maybe now they’ll notice.
Even this article fails to mention Kevin Jennings’ publicly repeated praise and admiration for Harry Hay, a devoted Communist and supporter of NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) which advocates sex between adult men and young boys as young as 18 months according to a law enforcement official who infiltrated the group. See video below:
Keven Jennings, this promoter of homosexual pedofelia, was appointed by Obama to be the “Safe Schools” Czar?! And this is only one of the slimy, crooked, twisted bastards that have been brought into his administration (ref. Van Jones and others). Could it be a coincidence, an innocent mistake? Or is this part of a pattern?
A man is known for the company he keeps, and Obama’s company is creepy and characterized by an unbearable stench.
From news reports a couple of days ago, trumpeting the fact that 8 U.S. soldiers had been killed in a fierce battle at Camp Keating, one might have concluded that this was some kind of a defeat. But thanks to ABC News, which apparently had a reporter (Karen Russo) on the ground at the time we now learn that our forces gave a lot better than they got. (See this) That should have been reflected in the original headline stories about the battle. See below:
One of the commanders in the Keating fight rejected any suggestion that the battle was a defeat and was frustrated that it could appear that way, especially since he estimated that as many as 100 to 150 attackers were killed in the fight.
Lt. Col. Jimmy Blackmon, who commanded the Apache battalion that flew to Keating’s defense, told ABC News, “Knowing that American soldiers fought all day long, heroic valorous actions all day long, and a headline would lead the average person to believe that we may have lost that fight. Unequivocally untrue.”
Giving credit where it is due, ABC news, particularly the objective and knowledgeable reporting of Barbara Raddatz, has done better than most of the other mainstream news outlets in reporting military news events. Many of the others have editors and reporters that a) use the news to discredit and minimize military accomplishments, and b) in many cases, the writers and editors don’t know which end of the weapon the bullet comes out of.
Today I attended the Tucson “Tea Party” held at Tucson Electric Park baseball stadium. I’m happy to report that I escaped the mob scene unharmed and can report to you now. First a few facts. The event, organized by a couple of local women, was well attended. See pictures of the (I’d estimate 3,000 to 5,000 mobsters) below:
North side of stadium:
South side of same:
You can obviously see why Nancy would be frightened out of her wits by the violent nature of this rowdy crowd whose basest emotions were being whipped up by a black radio/TV commentator. a defeated (6 term I think) Republican congressman and a Judge, who is also a political commentator. See below the provocative nature of the presentation.
When the crowd was sufficiently motivated to revolt against those “government dogs”, they then bolted for their cars to retrieve their hand-guns so that they could wreak vengeance upon their Democrat Oppressors. This frightful scene is documented faithfully, below, just as I witnessed it.
You can well imagine how relieved I am to have escaped with my life from such a riotous scene as I’ve described to you above. But after a brandy or two I’m able to reflect with a couple of observations.
First, as one speaker mentioned, there was a paucity of young people attending, even though this was a Saturday at a ballpark. It makes me wonder whether a) the young people simply don’t care about freedom, or b) they’re completely unaware that their future freedom is being stolen from them, or c) they’ve been so completely brain-washed in government schools by leftist teachers that they regard freedom as something quaint and valueless. We need more young people at these events if they are to serve their intended purpose.
Second, although this is Arizona where nobody in his right mind wears a tie, I was somewhat jarred by the attire of the speakers. The MC wore baggy, dirty jeans, a slouch hat, and a tail-shirt not tucked into his pants. He looked poor and sloppy. J.D. Hayworth, the politician, was dressed similarly — dirty, baggy jeans and a work shirt suitable for gardening. The Judge (Napolitano) appeared in a blue blazer. OK, at least he showed respect for the crowd.
In watching music events on TV (I don’t attend popular music concerts) I see the same culture — the musicians seem to think that the more ragged and dirty they look the more they’ll be appreciated … or something like that.
In my own opinion (since this is my blog after all) when you want to present something, be it music or politics to an audience, you owe them the courtesy to dress as if you are visiting their home for the first time or applying for a job. Anyway, I just couldn’t resist getting these observations into the article.
I’ve been meaning to write an article about what I consider to be the most dangerous invention of civilization — bureaucracy. Without bureaucracy the inquisition would have been impossible, Hitler could not have murdered millions, Lenin would have been a helpless, frustrated old revolutionary blowhard, and Stalin would have been a bitter clerk. It takes a bureaucracy to implement crimes of this huge magnitude.
Bureaucracy is the mechanism by which major organizational tasks can be accomplished without anyone involved taking any responsibility for the result, whether good or evil. When a large number of people are needed to accomplish an enterprise the bureaucratic organizational style ensures minimum friction. No bureaucrat need criticize the purpose or methods of the enterprise — he must only do his little part of the job.
Isn’t it amazing how a small number of determined people can walk into the office of the president of a country, shoot him between the eyes, then call a press conference to announce that they are now in power? And the bureaucracy continues to hum along as if nothing at all unusual had happened?
The bureaucracy is dangerous precisely because, once organized and functioning smoothly, it will continue to function for good or evil as long as its workers are paid and instructions are issued. Bureaucracies can be used to build bridges, issue welfare checks and fight wars, or to oppress, murder and incinerate millions of people. To the bureaucracy the task is immaterial and interchangeable. Nobody is responsible.
The interchangeability of bureaucratic tasks was highlighted recently in a review of writer Herta Muller’s work. From Times Online Profile: Herta Müller, scourge of Ceausescu – and his heirs
She turns it into an indictment not only of Ceausescu but of the 20 years that came afterwards, the survival of corrupt networks of power.
“Ceausescu’s secret police, the Securitate, has not disbanded, it was just given another name, the Romanian Information Service,” she writes. “According to their own figures, 40 per cent of the staff was taken on from the Securitate and the remaining 60 per cent are retired and living on pensions that are three times higher than those of everybody elese, or they are the new architects of the market economy.”
We Americans are now in a stage of history where our bureaucracies are growing at an alarming rate, intruding into every aspect of our lives. We tend to view these bureaucracies as sometimes annoying (DMV) but otherwise benign organizations staffed largely by well meaning if dull witted and unmotivated people. But let the head of the bureaucracy be lopped off and replaced by an evil-minded lunatic and the dull bureaucracy will continue to function as before — doing now whatever evil job it is given.
Do not for a moment believe that it can’t happen here.

Worth Reading, an article about modern China from Mail Online, Marching to world domination: China celebrates 60 years of communism with a display of military might that should worry the West
We shouldn’t forget that the communist government of China has been responsible for the deaths of some 80 million of its own people through repression, starvation and outright official brutality.
Although the Chinese armed forces, with 2.5 million men are still not the military match for the west’s much smaller but more lethal force, this may not remain true, especially as Europe becomes ever more feminized and the U.S. loses its will to maintain a Pax Americana. And an increasing reliance on China as a source for manufacturing leaves the west vulnerable to a Chinese social calamity. But most important of all, these are brutal Communists. Don’t be fooled.
These guys are not our friends.
